"Pig Town Party" By Lian Cho

There has been a ton of buzz around Pig Town Party so I knew I had to get it asap. The hype was right, this book is hilarious and will have you and your little one laughing like crazy.

Lian illustrated Oh no! The Aunts are Here! And her book Olive is just as cute.

One day while Cutie is relaxing she receives a mysterious letter. It is an invitation to a Pig Town Party. Cutie has questions. What is a Pig Town Party? And why does she need to bring cupcakes? She decides to chase the mail carrier and chase him she does. She chases him directly into a hedge and discovers Pig Town on the other side! Once she grabs the cupcakes (her favorite!) she heads to the party where everyone is a pig in costume. The pigs all cheer and declare her costume is excellent. The problem? She isn’t wearing a costume. Does this stop our Cutie from having a wonderful time? No it does not. It isn’t until an ill fated costume contest that she realizes she is NOT in fact the Cutie they all think she is. I won’t spoil the ending, but I will tell you that Cutie is a heroine that few may like, but most can relate to.

Bits and Pieces: The art was created using gouache and colored pencils.

Not Sure About: You will be upset and frustrated that you have not received an invitation to a Pig Town Party. I kicked a chair in my angry state.

Favorite Part: Cutie’s boots.
